The weekend just gone has been great!
We sailed every day, enjoying great weather - clear skies and nice light breezes. We have been doing a bit of training with the English and Americans on short course racing, which has been going well. Both Dog and (coach) Euan are well and we are all ready to get into the racing – just 11 sleeps away now.
My wife and three daughters arrive in a few days – it will be good to see them before I head to Beijing for the Opening Ceremony, which Dog and I plan to attend…what an experience!

About Me
- Iain Murray
- I am a compulsive sailor! I started sailing in my early teens, in the Flying Ant class. In my late teens, I moved into 18ft Skiffs and won the World Championships six years running. This is something I am still immensely proud of. In 1983 I was part of Australia's successful America’s Cup challenge, and was also helmsman for the Cup’s defence in 1987. I was also helmsman in further challenges in 1991 and 1995. These were all amazing learning experiences. Competing in the Olympics is what drives me now - it's the box I've not yet ticked off. When I'm not training and sailing the things I enjoy most in life are the simple ones - spending time with my wife and three daughters.
